The Charity was founded in 1992 to support those with life limiting by providing volunteer drivers and sitters to, respectively, take patients to and from hospital for treatment and to sit with patients so that their carers may have some time to themselves. In June 2005 the Charity took over responsibility for the Community Critical Care Service and we provide qualified Healthcare Assistants who are specially trained in palliative care to help those who are in the very end stage of their illness.
Our Vision-
Giving the opportunity to patients with life-limiting illness, who wish to remain at home for as long as possible, the choice to do soby providing dedicated palliative care workers and trained volunteers, who provide support for them and their carers.
Programmes and Activities-
Funds to manage the volunteer services are raised from coffee mornings, street collections, concerts, personal sponsorship, an annual raffle and an annual formal dinner.
